CGC Video Games™ is thrilled to have two of the country’s top video game experts on the controller: Matt McClellan, Senior Video Game Grading Finalizer, and Jason Brassard, Video Game Grading Finalizer. McClellan and Brassard lead the CGC Video Games grading team, which is now fully trained and ready to grade your games. They worked passionately to establish grading standards, build an extensive database and develop the superior, state-of-the-art CGC Video Games holder.

Meet Matt McClellan

Prior to joining CGC Video Games, McClellan operated an independent video game store for nearly a decade, becoming an authority on video game authenticity, condition and rarity. His video game knowledge is broad and encompasses a vast range of video game consoles, but McClellan is particularly well-regarded for his expertise in authenticating sealed original Xbox games and modern systems in general, as well as all Nintendo games.

When he established his business, McClellan also became a serious video game collector, championing the importance of the hobby and the significance of video games not only to his life but many others. A Super Nintendo with Zelda Link to the Past was his first foray into gaming, and the release of the original Xbox and Halo: Combat Evolved intensified his interest.

At CGC Video Games, McClellan looks forward to giving collectors a grading service that provides high-quality authentication, grading and encapsulation services that benefit the hobby. He sees a bright future for video game collecting, with CGC Video Games offering the confidence to collectors that will further grow and strengthen the market.

“Video games have been part of my entire life, and I’m not the only one who recognizes the influence of video games on our personal identities and our culture, as shown by the growing interest in video game collecting,” comments McClellan. “CGC Video Games will bring a proven and trusted certification process along with high standards of expertise to the video game collecting community, and I am proud to drive that delivery.”

Meet Jason Brassard

Jason Brassard has been collecting video games and building sets since the late-1990s, when he began scouring yard sales and flea markets for any games that he did not already own. For 20 years, he operated an independent video game store, becoming just as adept at evaluating and handling new games.

Today, Brassard’s knowledge of video game authenticity, condition and rarity is deep and expansive. He co-authored the book “Classic 80s Home Video Games” as a reference for the hobby, and he is passionate about preserving games for future generations. His specific area of expertise is classic, pre-2001 games, specializing in Atari and Colecovision, and his favorite game is Kaboom Atari 2600.

At CGC Video Games, Brassard looks forward to working with a team of passionate and trusted video game experts, all with the same goal of growing the collectible video game hobby.

“As nostalgia for classic video games grows, I anticipate many new and exciting ways to collect video games and share the love of video games,” says Brassard. “CGC Video Games will support the increased interest in video games by providing confidence to collectors that will further strengthen the hobby and the market.”
