Upcoming Releases: June 2025

June is here, which means it’s time for summer fun! The pools and beaches are filling up and, most importantly, pop culture creators are debuting their latest releases. Marvel and DC have a great lineup for the month, while Nintendo is gearing up for the release of the Switch 2 in just a few days. Here's what we have to look forward to this June.

2024-25 Topps Chrome Basketball – June 12

As the NBA Finals get underway, Topps is releasing their first pro basketball series of the season when the 2024-25 Topps Chrome Basketball set hits shelves on June 12! The newest Topps Chrome basketball cards feature a mixed checklist of current veterans and retired NBA icons among its 200-card base set, while also shining a spotlight on members of the 2024 draft class. In fact, there are almost 50 rookies featured in the base set alone.

As usual, when it comes to Topps Chrome, collectors can expect premium chrome cardstock and lots of Refractors. Every base card also features more than 30 different versions of parallels. In addition, coveted autographed cards return in eight different themes, including Topps Certified Autograph Issue Rookies, Sky-Light Signatures, Next Stop Signatures, 1973 Topps Autographs and more!

Switch 2 – June 5

Nintendo’s latest console is about to hit store shelves, and you can feel the excitement from hardcore and casual gamers alike!

When the Nintendo Switch released in 2017, it received critical acclaim and went on to sell more than 150 million units worldwide, making it the third-highest selling video game console of all time. Now, Nintendo is following up on the Switch’s success by (finally) releasing its successor — the Switch 2! In comparison to the Switch, the Switch 2 improves on its predecessor with higher-quality Joy-Cons, increased internal storage, a liquid-crystal display, game chat and higher resolution. It’s even backwards compatible, allowing Switch users to play their original Switch games on the new hardware!

The Switch 2 is bringing a ton of launch titles along for the ride, including Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, Kirby Air Riders, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment and many more. Additionally, subscribers to Nintendo Switch Online will be able to exclusively enjoy GameCube titles on the Nintendo Switch 2’s Virtual Console, including classics such as The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, F-Zero GX and Soulcalibur II. Plus, many more games are set to release in the future — both for the Switch 2 and Virtual Console — so look forward to those!

28 Years Later – June 20

The thrilling third installment of the 28 Days Later series is coming to theaters!

Twenty-eight years after the events of the first movie, survivors of the Rage Virus outbreak — a terrifying virus that makes infected creatures turn feral and attack without mercy — have learned to exist amidst the infected. A father and son, living among a group of survivors on a small island, decide to leave the island on a mission to the mainland. There, they’ll discover the horrors, secrets and wonders of the outside world.

Cinematographer Anthony Dod Mantle and actors Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Ralph Fiennes all make their grand return to the series in 28 Years Later, with Cillian Murphy serving as executive producer of the film. Additionally, 28 Years Later was filmed alongside its sequel, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple — so there’s more to look forward to in the near future.
