Two Modern Games Graded by CGC Video Games Realize Impressive Prices in Heritage Sale

Two modern video games certified by CGC Video Games realized impressive prices in a recent Heritage Auctions sale. Heritage’s Sixth Generation and Beyond Video Games Showcase Auction ended on March 9, 2023.

Among the CGC-certified games in the sale was this sealed Halo: Combat Evolved for the Microsoft Xbox (2001) graded CGC 9.6 A (lot 79108) that realized $8,400. Halo: Combat Evolved is the first game in the Halo series. It was initially released as a launch title for the original Xbox, but its overwhelming positive reception and financial success led to multiple re-releases and sequels. Even 20 years later, Halo is still regarded as one of the greatest video games ever made.

Meanwhile, a sealed The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for the Nintendo Switch (2017) graded CGC 10 A++ (lot 79053) took the crowd’s breath away during the sale. A CGC 10 grade is the highest grade on the CGC Video Games Grading Scale, and an A++ grade is the highest grade on the Seal Grades scale. The Legend of Zelda is a beloved series, and this latest entry in the series is praised for its stunning graphics, stellar gameplay and excellent soundtrack. The near-perfect copy realized $3,360.

  • a sealed Fortnite for the Microsoft Xbox One (2017) graded CGC 9.2 A+ (lot 79121) that realized $1,140
  • a sealed Resident Evil 4 for the Sony PlayStation 2 (2005) graded CGC 9.8 A+ that realized $576
  • a sealed Pokemon Ultra Moon [Middle Eastern Version] for the Nintendo 3DS (2017) graded CGC 9.9 A+ (lot 79035) that realized $129
