Legend of Zelda Certified by CGC Video Games Sells for Nearly $6,000

The impressive amount shows that collectors are already embracing CGC Video Games' expertise and industry-best holder.

One of the first video games certified by CGC Video Games® to come to market performed admirably after being listed in an eBay auction. Graded CGC 8.0 A, the sealed copy of The Legend of Zelda for the Nintendo Entertainment System (1989) found a buyer for $5,950 in early December 2022.

“We were thrilled to see this example of The Legend of Zelda certified by CGC Video Games perform so well,” commented Matt McClellan, Senior Grading Finalizer for CGC Video Games. “We look forward to sharing more classics like this with collectors as they cross the auction block in the future.”

The Legend of Zelda became an instant classic upon its release in February 1986. Critics praised the Nintendo title for its innovative gameplay, excellent musical score, and graphics. The Legend of Zelda remains a popular game to collect today, with sealed copies such as this one often considered a holy grail of Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) collections.
