Heritage Offers Sealed Ladder Variant Zelda Certified by CGC Video Games
We're keeping an eye on an ongoing Heritage Auctions sale that features a sealed copy of The Legend of Zelda for the Nintendo Entertainment System graded by CGC Video Games. Bidding is already underway for the Video Games Signature Auction #7372 and is set to end on May 24-25, 2024.
This sealed, second-production copy of The Legend of Zelda for the Nintendo Entertainment System (1997) is graded CGC 9.2 A (lot 28018). This is only the second time that Heritage Auctions has offered a sealed variant of The Legend of Zelda with the ladder screenshot— shown on the back of the box. Very few sealed copies of The Legend of Zelda with the ladder screenshot are known to exist, as they were replaced by the more common water screenshot shortly after production began.
The Legend of Zelda is considered one of the ultimate centerpieces of a video game collection. The legendary RPG represents a milestone in gaming history that introduced Western audiences to the thrills of action-adventure gameplay while mixing in new and revolutionary roleplaying elements. Because of this, The Legend of Zelda for the NES is considered one of the greatest video games of all time.
