Motor City Comic Con, founded in 1989, has become one of the premier comic conventions in the United States, uniting fans, artists and industry pros in a three-day celebration of comics, movies, TV, gaming and more. With tens of thousands attending each year, it offers an expansive exhibitor hall, celebrity panels, cosplay contests and a family-friendly Kids Den for all ages. Celebrating shared passions, Motor City Comic Con brings the world of pop culture to life for enthusiasts of every kind.
Preparing Submissions for the Show
CGC will be accepting submissions of comics, magazines, TCGs, sports cards, non-sports cards, video games and home video collectibles for grading. Autographed comics and cards may be submitted for CGC x JSA Authentic Autograph certification, and autographed memorabilia may be submitted for JSA-only services. Please note that JSA is no longer accepting cash as payment for autograph services.
To spend more time enjoying the show, submit your prepared collectibles through the Express Drop-Off (EDO) service, which enables you to skip the line and quickly hand off your prepared submission to a representative.
Please take the following steps before arriving:
- Become a paid CGC member here. All it takes is a free account to submit, and paid members get additional discounts and benefits.
- Go to the online submission form for comics, cards, video games or home video. (For JSA memorabilia submissions, simply bring your item to the show.)
- Select “Mail-In or Show Drop-Off” to start your submission. Please note that you’ll have the option to choose JSA autograph authentication for comics and cards after choosing your primary grading services.
- Complete the submission form and print the packing slips.
Important: To ensure that your submission process stays on schedule, please place your collectibles in the order listed on the packing slip. Please bring BOTH copies of the packing slip with your collectibles to the show drop-off. Failure to do so will result in delays.
- Keep your collectibles safe and secure until you drop off your submission (including the packing slip) with a representative.
- Go to the Express Drop-Off sign to finalize your submission.
All submissions of comics, cards, video games and home video collectibles will be transported to the companies’ headquarters in Sarasota, Florida, for authentication, grading and encapsulation. Memorabilia submissions will be given back at the show, and you’ll receive your results mailed back to you.
